Pharmacy First Service

Pharmacy First is a free service offered by all community pharmacies in Scotland to provide medicines, advice or a referral for minor medical conditions such as eye infections, sore throats and hay fever. You don't have to register at the the pharmacy, but you must be registered with a GP in Scotland. There's no need to make an appointment, just call in to the pharmacy and you'll be seen as soon as possible.

Vaccinations

We offer an NHS flu vaccination service to those in at-risk groups. Flu and its complications can be deadly.  Last winter, getting vaccinated against flu cut the risk of being hospitalised by around:


  • 66 per cent in children
  • 25 per cent in adults aged 65 years and older
  • 33 per cent in other adults with underlying health conditions.

Travel Clinic (Coylton)

A private travel clinic is now available at our Coylton branch on Mondays to Thursdays 9am-6pm. If you're planning a trip abroad or travelling for work, arrange an appointment with our trained pharmacist prescriber Karen to assess your needs.

We have a private consultation room and will carry out a full assessment to ensure you receive the correct advice and treatment, taking into account any current medication and medical issues you may have.


Services available:


  • Assessment of vaccination(s) or anti-malarial prophylaxis needed.
  • Supply and administration of vaccines.
  • Supply of anti-malarial tablets.
  • Advice on avoiding other health risks in the area you are travelling to.

Sexual Health Clinic (Coylton)

A free and confidential sexual health service is now available at our Coylton branch on Monday to Thursday 9am-6pm. Just drop in or phone 01292 570449 for an appointment with our trained prescribing pharmacist, Karen.


We have a private consultation room and all clinic visits and test results are recorded, kept secure and held in the strictest confidence.


Services available:


  • Contraceptive pill checks and reissue.
  • Administration of Depo-Provera and Sayana Press.
  • Emergency hormonal contraception
  • C-card signup and supply of free condoms
  • Chlamydia and gonorrhoea testing.


Our pharmacist will also be able to refer on to other NHS services if necessary and will liaise with your GP.
